Different Route

Hey Guys, I'm so sorry for the lack of posts. I am actually working on creating a new blog altogether. It will be called Silver Fox Style and it will be a lifestyle blog for the over 40 woman. I am very excited about it and plan on it being something that will allow me to utilize my talents, hobbies and just the things that make me happy.

I hope you will enjoy it and send your friends and family to check it out.

I will make several Facebook announcements when it is up and running. I had first planned to do it through BlogSpot like this one, but I am wanting a different look than Blog Spot would offer.

Stay tuned!

Happy New Year

You know how so many people make New Years Resolutions? Well I have decided to change it up a bit for my 2013. I will simply make New Years Plans. I have made a list of 6 things I would like to accomplish in 2013 and I hope to complete the list by 2014.

Making plans helps to ease the pressure and make it less painful if a plan doesn't reach fullfillment. I have made sure to put a least 4 things on the list that simply take effort on my part (which helps the success rate). I have been known to have a problem with motivation, but this year I plan to break that off my life and power through to get the things I want and deserve. I wish you all the best year of your lives!

I will keep you posted.

Path

Hello All,

Alas, I am still not quite myself as it pertains to my health and I have yet to secure a position. Needless to say, I have a bit of time on my hands. I've been thinking that maybe I need to start writing again and stop feeling so sorry for myself. In doing some research on another topic I stumbled onto this You Tube posting and I clicked on it.

What I found was more than I expected and by it's end, found myself in tears. I think I am being put on a path that I must follow. I will keep you informed.

Okay, so I know that I have been a little lacks in blogging lately...I will try and do a better job. I have had a few issues with my health, but hopefully I am on the road to mend. I am finding that lately I have been feeling "expectant." You know, like when a special occasion is coming up and you are just a bit antsy? Well that's how I've been feeling. There isn't a planned special occasion that is on the horizon, I just know that something is coming and that something is good!

I think I am on the verge of a life shift. You know, when your life is about to explode in a huge way. When things start to look up and all good things are attracted to you? I don't what God's plans are exactly, but I do know he has plans for me. Big plans, and I intend to be ready.

I have begun to organize my life a bit more, which I think everyone needs to do. When you keep your surroundings in order your brain seems to fall in line. We all seem to have more than we need and I know for some, that "more" is EVERYWHERE. My place is fairly small but nice and it fits me perfectly but everything can get...better. I have organized my closet recently after being given some visual nudges by Pinterest. My closet came with a single L-shaped wire rack for hanging, but what true fashionista can survive with one hanging rack?

I purchased a rack extender from Bed Bath and Beyond which turned the back of my closet into a double hung rack which I use for tops, jackets and pants. My closet is color coordinated from white to black with all remaining colors sorted in between which makes what I'm looking for that much easier.

I purchased a shower rod with some "s" shaped shower curtain hooks and placed them at the top of my closet on the back wall. This rod an hooks holds my purses with the overflow sorted on the shelf of the double hung rack.. It is one of the ideas I found on Pinterest (which I wholeheartedly claim as one of my best friends). I have mounted two white plastic baskets from the Dollar Store on the left side wall to hold my scarves and belts.

My shoes are stored in individual clear plastic shoe boxes stacked on the floor but I am thinking of installing 4-5 long shelves to hold all the shoes and use the top open shelf to hold my folded jeans and sweaters.

Next up will be the kitchen. I plan to purchase 2 shelves and brackets to create open shelving for my white dishes and some glassware. I guess I should purchase some spackle while I'm at Lowes - just in case I get happy with the hammer.  Til next time, Dolls!

4th of July

July 4th 2012 was spent with one of my favorite people, my 2 month old granddaughter Sofia. A month prior, I purchased our fashion statements for the upcoming festivities; a white tee shirt with the Old Navy American Flag emblem and a matching onesie for my girl. Her mother joined with the same flag emblem on a red tank. We parked near the Trinity River in Fort Worth at about 8pm on the fourth to wait for the fireworks (which is one of my daughter, Brittney's favorite things). It was HOT, but of course the heat was nothing out of the ordinary for Texas, but it was out of the ordinary for Miss Sofia. She was miserable!

Because Brittney loves taking pictures, Sofia was the prime target. As you can see, she was so excited to be the subject matter. It took some time for the fireworks to start but when they did it was great. We happened to be in a spot where we were able to see two different displays. While, Brittney, her husband Juan and I watched the show, Sofia watched the inside of her eyelids! Yes, she was fast asleep!!! It of course will be some time before before we can discuss her "boredom" of an annual family outing, but until then I'll have photographic evidence of my dollbaby.

Okay, so these lovely people are Sofia's proud parents. That's my daughter Brittney and her husband Juan. I think they are a good couple. They are still young and things come up, but they are good together. Look at my baby's sweet face, I guess that's where Sofia gets it.

We are all cohabiting right now, waiting for the inspection on their new house so I have been lucky enough to have had my new grandbaby with me since she came home from the hospital. I have been able to swaddle her and rock her to sleep, feed her and soothe her crying. What more could a "Love" ask for?

Brittney and Juan are new parents so there is a learning curve but I can see they are on the right track. They have gotten a routine down and the evenings are much smoother. Those of you who are willing, pray for this little family as they set off into their new adventure as new homeowners.
